Speaking of miracles...

It was time for our 6 month checkup at the dentist this week and shock.....all seven of us were free and clear of cavities! A little history here might help you understand the maginitude of this day. Up until moving to Chicago we would have an occasional cavity or two between us. John of course would tell you that he has teeth that are made of iron and can't remember that last time he had a cavity(and if the kids got any cavities if was from the Stead side of the family, of course..). Well, upon our first appointment at our new dentist back in 2005 they discovered that our family had a total of 27 cavities and John had 6 of them (a little laughter here would be appropriate...not that I am competitive or anything)! This was completely shocking and it continued to go down hill for us. Let's just say that this dentist was living the high life with us as her patients. After awhile we became fairly skeptical of her evaluations. Thankfully, the church needed to change insurances this year and we were very happy to pick a new dentist. Let's just say that we like our new dentist already.
Here are Luke and Olivia having a little fun while waiting for the doctor.

Dang! Just taking 7 people to the dentist is an exploit worthy of great admiration.

While living in Spokane, we visited a new dentist who told us that Eric needed his jaw broken and realigned becuase he had a 'strong jaw' and it would greatly improve his appearance...

Ummm, what if I think his appearance needs improving???

(I'd had 2 cavities my entire life before visiting his office- somehow he found 7 that needed immediate attention...HHhmmm....)
Needless to say, we left that dentist rather quickly too.

Nice to get caught up with your family! Glad to see your transition has been blessed so much! Enjoy those Tobins...we're jealous you have then SO SO close!

Hey Moffits! Good to hear from you too. I think we were a little late on the whole dentist thing. We should have figured it out a little sooner... but now we know better. I can't believe they suggested to have Eric's jaw broken! Unbelievable!

Your family is adorable! Enjoy because it goes soooo quickly. Mine were just little a few years ago...remember? :)
